Sensei Eric Winters

Aikido

Sensei Winters started Aikido with Pat Hendricks Shihan in August 1990 at Aikido of San Leandro, where he completed a 1 ½ year Uchideshi apprenticeship from September 1992 to March 1994. He has also trained extensively with Howard Newens Shihan at Aikido Institute of Davis for the past 20 years. Sensei Winters earned his 6th Dan in January of 2019.

Takamura ha Shindo Yoshin Ryu (TSYR)

Sensei Winters started TSYR in 2008 under Sensei Linda Crochier (Shoden Menkyo). Sensei Winters has continued to train under the tutelage of Toby Threadgill Kaicho and was awarded the Shoden Menkyo in 2013 and the Chuden Menkyo in 2021.

 

Terence Phan

Aikido

Terence Phan began studying Aikido under Hoa Newens Sensei in 2003 and, over the years, he has been grateful to have trained under (in chronological order) Tom Gambell Sensei, Hoa Newens Sensei, Hitohiro Saito Sensei, Dang Thong Phong Sensei, Pat Hendricks Sensei, Eric Winters Sensei, with opportunities to be uchi deshi under Saito Sensei in 2008 and 2012. In 2017, he earned the rank of 4th Dan.

Takamura ha Shindo Yoshin Ryu (TSYR)

Terence began studying Takamura ha Shindo Yoshin Ryu in 2013 under Sensei Toby Threadgill and Sensei Eric Winters and, in April 2022, earned his Chuden level license.
